Ambassador Nassir Abdelaziz Al-Nasser H.E. Ambassador Nassir Abdelaziz Al–Nasser (Qatar)

H.E. Ambassador Nassir Abdelaziz Al–Nasser is the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York, a role in which he has served since 1998. On June 22, 2011, he was elected President of the 66th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. In 2003, he was promoted to the rank of Under–Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar. Previously, Al–Nasser was Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. At the U.N., he was the accredited Representative of the State of Qatar to the Security Council in 2006—2007 and served as its President during the month of December 2006. From September 2002 to September 2003, he was the elected Vice President of the 57th Session of the U.N. General Assembly. A native of Doha, Qatar, he holds advanced graduate degrees in political science, diplomacy, international relations, and management from high–level educational institutions in Doha and Beirut, Lebanon.
