Ambassador Nassir Abdelaziz Al-Nasser H.E. Ambassador Nassir Abdelaziz Al–Nasser (Qatar)

H.E. Ambassador Nassir Abdelaziz Al–Nasser is the High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations of the United Nations. He also served as the President of the 66th Session of the United Nations General Assembly. Previously, he was the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations in New York, a role in which he served from 1998 until 2011. At the U.N., Amb. Al–Nasser was the accredited Representative of the State of Qatar to the Security Council in 2006–2007 and served as its President during the month of December 2006. From September 2002 to September 2003, he was the elected Vice President of the 57th Session of the U.N. General Assembly. A native of Doha, Qatar, he holds advanced graduate degrees in political science, diplomacy, international relations, and management from high–level educational institutions in Doha and Beirut, Lebanon.
