Maleeha Lodhi is a journalist, professor, and diplomat. She was previously a member of the United Nations Secretary–General’s Advisory Board on Disarmament Affairs and was also Ambassador of Pakistan to the U.S and to the United Kingdom. Holder of a Ph.D. in Political Science from the London School of Economics, Maleeha Lodhi has been a lecturer in political science and public administration at LSE and at Quaid–e–Azam University in Islamabad. In addition, she has worked as editor of The News (Pakistan’s leading English daily). Recipient of the 2002 Hilal–e–Imtiaz Presidential award for public service, she is the author of two essay collections, Pakistan’s Encounter with Democracy and The External Challenge (both from Lahore Jang Publications, 1994). She received an Honorary Fellowship from the London School of Economics in 2004 and an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Letters from London’s Metropolitan University in 2005. Maleeha Lodhi was a Fellow at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics in the fall of 2008.
