Farhan A. Nizami (India/ U.K.)Farhan Nizami is the founding Director of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies and the Prince of Wales Fellow in the Study of the Islamic World at Magdalen College, Oxford. Editor of the Journal of Islamic Studies, he is a member of Oxford’s Faculty of Modern History. Educated at the Aligarh Muslim University and at Wadham College, Oxford, he became a fellow of St. Cross College in 1983 and subsequently a Fellow in Islamic Studies. Upon his move to Magdalen, he was elected to an Emeritus Fellowship at St. Cross. He is currently working on an atlas of Muslim social and intellectual history forthcoming from Oxford University Press.
