Founder and Director Mustapha Tlili participated in the Conference on “Devout Faith and Liberal Democracy: Contribution or Contest?” at the Deutsches Haus at NYU, March 29-30, 2012.

Founder and Director Mustapha Tlili participated in the Conference on “Devout Faith and Liberal Democracy: Contribution or Contest?”. He spoke at a panel which explored the role devout faith plays today in light of the global push towards democracy, economic fairness, and security concerns.

The conference was organized by New York University’s Professor Marcia Pally, and was hosted by The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and Deutsches Haus at NYU, with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Other participants included Dr. Joel Hunter (White House Council on Faith–Based and Neighborhood Partnerships), Karsten Voigt (Coordinator of German-North American Cooperation, German Federal Foreign Office, 1999-2009), and Isabelle Werenfels (German Institute for International and Security Affairs, North Africa specialist).
