"Conference About The Roots of Terror, East and West at the same table"

Kronenzeitung, November 2, 2002

By Kurt Seinitz

Granada. Islamic terror and its roots as well as the threat of a new World War between the Islamic World and the West are being discussed at a conference on this subject by representatives of both the East and the West. The origins of participants range from Indonesia (Bali) to Iran and the European Union to the USA. Austria is also represented by the Kronenzeitung.

Planned in the aftermath of September 11 by the World Policy Institute of New York with the support of the Carnegie Corporation and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the conference is of the utmost importance today following the recent terrorist attacks in Bali and Moscow. Its goal is to explore the causes of the conflict in order to prevent the worst, while at the same time to develop remedies. The first priority is to fight prejudice, avoid enmity and clear up misunderstandings.

The site of the conference is the Alhambra Palace.
